Hello folks

Flamekebab and I have been discussing starting a new mag project lead by who else ?.. me

We have two options as to what kind of e- mag to produce, the first one would be about the recent advancements in the "Health Sciences". Which include stuff like a vaccine for cervical cancer, a cure for Alzheimer's and tiny microscopic robots called "nanobots" that will repair cells.

The second idea is one Flamekebab has expressed interest and support for:

It would be a linux mag, basically we would be talking about the latest software available and how to use them, along with explanations for newer users (not newbies, but people wanting to take the next step).

It would sorta be like a "How-to" or "man" page with some mag stuff put in it such as commentary, reviews, stuff like that.

So I just need you guys input; tell me what you guys think of these ideas.

Anyways just give me a shout and tell me what you guys think be free to say anything

thanks

Sn@ke

the linux mag will discuss things like xwindows (the GUI of linux)
reviews of emulators such as WINE(cedga) and VM ware and also a chart comparing different Distros
basically with that we will compare the distros and recommend which one they should use based on their various needs/ wants /tastes

please do give me your input and ideas on what should be inculded in the mag

thanks

I think it would be better to have a Linux magazine as, as well the general knowledge and interest of the people on these forums being considerably more angled in that direction, I can't help feeling that, in the absence of expertise, a "Health Sciences" magazine would very quickly run out of content and initiative and thus lose readers.

That’s my opinion. Yah.

EDIT: Ok I seem to be rather out of sync with reality. Please ignore/pay attention to me. Delete as appropriate.

Personally I think a health mag would be inpractical and pointless. Many of these 'scientific' break-throughs are usually short-lived and lead to nothing. Other times these new treatments are only accesible for the rich.

Going to have to go with linux, not enough good things to write about with the health and i know nothing of it, we could still be revolutionary with the linux one if we did it right.

i think we could make a smash hit with the linux mag idea if we did it carefully

if flamey could do the honors and get stuff together like our own sub forum and all you guys together i think we can truly exceed other linux publications and exceed our bandwith cap

I hope to see all of you make a valuable contribution to this project

like i said if we work hard enough we can be the best linux mag out there

Cheers,
Snake
